Current Employment Opportunities:

Senior Dining Site Manager (Part-time): Responsible for overseeing and supervising the congregate (dining club) meal site including making decisions regarding food service and site cleanliness. This position requires the ability to work with considerable independence within the established rules, regulations, and procedures. Also, must be able to supervise volunteer staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Handle congregate (dining club) meal reservations. And prepare meal site for site activities.
  • Order meals, commodities and supplies with applicable Dietary staff member and prepare all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and site aides.
  • Conduct monthly site meetings with Advisory committee.
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of clients and make necessary referrals for services, along with assisting client issues or emergencies.
  • Coordinate activities, events and fundraising opportunities for dining site and assist in planning of the monthly calendar to initiate any recreation or education programs.
  • Attend all training sessions and meetings as scheduled.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Osceola Council on Aging.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Nutrition Director.

Meals on Wheels Driver Coordinator (Part-time): Responsible for the coordination of the volunteer drivers for the Home Delivered Meals Program in their area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep an updated volunteer list with names, addresses, phone numbers and date volunteer came to the program.
  • Maintain MOW driver contact.
  • Make necessary substitutions or accomplish the delivery of MOW route themselves when volunteers are not available.
  • Maintain MOW route arrangements.
  • Assist with mapping routes for the MOW drivers.
  • Coordinate MOW meal drop-off sites.
  • Deliver MOW route(s), as needed.
  • Maintain MOW records and files as needed to efficiently accomplish the job.
  • Distribute donation envelopes and other announcements as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Conduct community outreach as needed or requested.
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Osceola Council on Aging.
  • Other duties as assigned, to include assisting in times of disaster as needed.

    Transportation Driver (Part-time): This position is responsible for transporting clients as assigned. Requires knowledge of the county and the ability to understand and assist our clients.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Evaluate/Inspect vehicle every day before and after operation. Complete inspection forms and report vehicle condition to the supervisor daily.
    • Clean vehicle interiors daily and exteriors weekly.
    • Operate a multi-passenger bus, driving several miles every day.
    • Follow all traffic laws and maintain client safety at all times.
    • Assist clientele by providing door-to-door support, helping clients in/out of the vehicles, operating a wheelchair lift when necessary.
    • Complete client rosters on a daily basis. Assist with updates to the routing sequence for client pickups & drop-offs in a most effective and efficient way.
    • Maintain open radio communication, and be ready to perform support services and requests as needed.
    • Occasional duties to include pick – up and delivery of various products used by the agency for client use that requires moderate lifting.
    • Report any incidents immediately to the Supervisor, completing written reports as required.
    • Follow all policies and procedures of the agency.
    • Other duties as assigned, to include assisting in times of disaster, as needed.
    • CDL (Commercial Driver License) with passenger endorsement.

    Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide: Be the Key to our wonderful clients by helping them remain happy and healthy in their own homes! Responsible for providing comprehensive care including aspects of both housekeeping and personal care, which are incidental to the care provided.

    Home Health Aides (HHA)

    The main responsibility of an HHA is to provide personal care. HHAs can help elderly adults with daily tasks such as bathing, getting dressed, preparing meals, eating, and hygiene needs. HHAs are usually required to get a certification after taking the necessary classes at a vocational school or college. HHAs can be very helpful to elderly adults around the house and can provide companionship. HHAs are not nurses and do not provide medication.

    Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)

    CNAs receive the same training in giving personal care as HHAs do, but they also receive additional medical training. Like HHAs, CNAs get a certification after completing their training at a vocational school or college and passing an exam. Like HHAs, CNAs can assist elderly adults with bathing, getting dressed, preparing meals, eating, and hygiene needs while also providing companionship. In addition to these tasks, CNAs are able to help elderly adults move into and out of wheelchairs, into and out of bed, change their position in bed.

    Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion. Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension. Good collaboration and teamwork skills.

    Both positions must have current certification in the state of Florida as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). Home Health Aide must have documentation of completion of at least forty hours of training, pursuant to Section 400.497(1), F.S.

    Must have a smartphone and reliable transportation.
